For Lisel, elite level sport and a professional career have to go hand in hand, with both a major part of her life and identity, and the skills developed in both complement each other. Lisel and her horse Oasis achieved Runner-Up Qld State Dressage Champion in 2021 at Medium Tour level (the second highest level, just below the Olympic level).  She was named on the 2022 Qld State Performance Squad, which aims to support up-and-coming talented combinations through to National selection. 

Training and competing in dressage has been a platform for the development of transferable skills such as:

• The importance of process and procedure
• Attention to detail and the value of compliance with rules and regulation
• Dynamic risk assessment skills in a high risk environment, where the only that is predictable is unpredictability 
• That change doesn’t happen overnight, and it takes years of focus, dedication and passion
• The importance of surrounding yourself with those who understand and 100% the end goal
